Who were the Aztecs?

The Aztecs were people who migrated to the Valley of Mexico during the early twelfth century. This is believed by many scholars. Their origin was in Atzlan in Northwest Mexico. The Aztecs spoke a different language known as Nahuatl. They worshipped different gods and their chief god, who is the Sun god, is Huitzilopochtli. It was this god who told the Aztecs to migrate and find a cactus with an eagle on top of it. They have built houses and market places which is still seen by people. Aztec people have done numerous works of art which are admired by many people in the modern times. The Aztec Civilization rose 700 years ago.
